Fitted onto (or into) roofs, the flat plate collector panels or evacuated tubes absorb the suns rays to heat water in a specially designed water storage cylinder, such as the Megatech from Heatrae Sadia. In summer, the system can provide up to 60% of a homes hot water needs, and even on the dullest day hot water can still be produced. Whats more, annual carbon emissions can be reduced by up to a tonne.
