VAT relief for disabled people


If you’re disabled or have a long-term illness, you won’t be charged VAT on products designed or adapted for your own personal or domestic use. Also, you won’t be charged VAT on:
  • The washroom, bathroom and sanitaryware goods MyTub supply which are designed or adapted for a disability.
  • The installation and any extra work needed as part of this.
  • Repairs or maintenance.
  • Spare parts or accessories.

Qualifying products or services

Please contact us for more clarification but products designed or adapted for a disability qualify. For example, certain types of:

  • Toilet products
  • Washroom products
  • Bathing products
  • Medical appliances to help with severe injuries
VAT relief for disabled people

To get the product VAT free your disability has to qualify. For VAT purposes, you’re disabled or have a long-term illness if:

  • You have a physical or mental impairment that affects your ability to carry out everyday activities, eg blindness
  • You have a condition that’s treated as chronic sickness, like diabetes
  • You’re terminally ill

You don’t qualify if you’re elderly but able-bodied, or if you’re temporarily disabled.

You’ll need to confirm in writing to us that you meet these conditions. Please complete these two forms

The quality of the product that was delivered to me was far from the standard that I would have expected from a company like yourselves. The item appeared to have been in the warehouse for a number of years and was bent with paint starting to corrode. I can only say that the item was replaced within a period of 2 weeks with a quality item. Service response was good. The original item should never have been allowed to be delivered as there could not have been any quality checks. This was someone getting rid of some old rubbish item. I can only say that this has certainly put me off using the website and supplier again. ...

Excellent service from MyTub. Pity the toilet seat does not merit such a credit. This is the forth in 10 years, they tend to crack in the middle as the rear supports dont touch the rim of wc as they are set to high....

Everything went very OK but delivery. I placed the order and made the payment on December 23rd, 2010, with a kind request for special care since it was kind of an emergency. I received a message advising that delivery was CONFIRMED (not estimated) on DEC 30th (refer to my order), but actual delivery took finally place on JAN 7th. You may agree that Ł25.20 fee for 15 days to cross the channel (I live in Paris) is difficult to accept for me especially during such a cold winter :-( I certainly will not renew the experience, although you have good products at very competitive prices because one can not afford to wait for 15 days to have his heater fixed during winter time....
