Hardboard, also called high-density fibreboard (HDF), is a wood product that has been specially engineered to be a type of high standard fibreboard.

The product is similar to particle board and also medium-density fibreboard, but it is much denser, stronger, and harder because it has been produced out of exploded wood fibres which have been highly compressed.

Hardboard differs from normal particle boards because of the bonding in the wood fibres require no materials to be added, but resin is sometimes used. Unlike particle board, it will not split or crack, this ensures that your product lasts longer than any other of it's kind.

Hardboard is used in a lot of construction and furniture, and is produced in either a wet (smooth on one side) or dry process (smooth on both sides).
