Energy efficiency measures have reached the one million homes milestone, figures released today by the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) have revealed.
By the end of November, the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and Green Deal schemes had delivered new boilers, windows and insulation in 1,021,000 homes.
A substantial part of work under ECO helped people with cold, damp homes at risk of fuel poverty and also had an impact in rural areas.
Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change Ed Davey said:

The challenge now is to continue this drive – and our next instalment of the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund is coming soon.
The figures were revealed in today’s statistical report on the government’s home energy efficiency programmes, covering the period up to the end of November.
Energy & Climate Change Minister Amber Rudd added:
